Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Marisa Law fell in love with singing at the age of 10 when she joined her school choir. During high school, her passion for music led her to study with Elaine Overholt, an esteemed vocal instructor, who has been the coach for major movie productions such as Hairspray and Chicago. While in high school, Marisa played a major role in her school musical, Children of Eden, and was asked to sing the national anthem at the Olympic figure skating fundraiser, "Celebrate the Dream".

After high school, Marisa Law was asked to record back up vocals and be part of the video shoot for Sarah Fisher's song, Walk On, for Kids Help Phone. Marisa also created her own YouTube channel, which caught the attention of producers Michael Getches and Shannon McArthur, who have worked with past clients such as Train, Jason Mraz and The Plain White T's. Marisa's affinity for songwriting and passion for singing led her to collaborate with Getches and McArthur to create her first EP.
